Its not even a 7th round pick this yr its 2 FREAKING yrs from now. No wonder why players are jumping ship this FO including its owner are a bunch of f*ckn clowns.

Next we should restructure Dawson no way he should make 4.134 mil this year. If not we can save 3 mil by cutting him. Wouldnt be surprised if we bring in someone to battle him in pre-season. The bright side is we are getting a lot younger with Smith, Lee, and the other 10 or so free agents over the past 3 is years leaving/retiring. Take Dawson, Dockett, Brooks, Boone, Boldin, Davis, Bethea, Pears after this year or next and our highest aged player will be about 31-32.

OMG the 49ers didn't get back a 1st round pick for a 32 year old punter that was going to get cut otherwise, RAAAGGEEEEE!!!!!

Yeah Lee would be going from about 2.05, to as high as 4.1 in the next 4 years. I said before last year he would have to restructure eventually or risk getting cut. I didn't see us paying him 3-4 million especially with Dawson's salary. Hopefully Dawson restructures now that he seen you can be traded or cut if you make too much. Hopefully all this saving of money is preparing us to make a long term deal to Aldon and then Lynch/Reid eventually. (once it's allowed after year 3)

BTW guys he was going to be 33 in 2 months (before the season started)

It's his contract.

Don't know why anyone is surprised. Almost everyone saw this coming. Lee has been one of the greatest punters in the last decade, but he declined last season and they drafted a guy in the 5th -- you simply don't do that with a PUNTER if the incumbent is going to return. Pinion has just as booming of a leg, and apparently is incredibly accurate. He also brings more value in terms kickoff contribution. That's something Lee just can't do.

Shane Lechler was an amazing punter for the Raiders, but even he eventually declined. They let him go and he wasn't the same with his new team. Lee wasn't going to be around forever. We shouldn't be upset about this. This saves us cap space and gives out STs KO unit a lot of help.

After years of loyal desication we're gonna ship u to cleveland.

Great way to reward a loyal player.
