Denver s 3rd round pick TE Jeff Heuerman out for the season with a torn ACL
I wonder if these players that go down so quickly in training have some issue that has not been detected or it's just a bad step.

This is why Baalke drafting injured players is a good idea cuz these rookies just come in and get injured anyways. That way no surprises you already know he's not going to play for at least another year.
Houston Texans UDFA James Rouse tears his achilles

The knee anatomy is a bad fit for football. Anyone could go down at any time.

Rookie mini camp: guys who are not in top shape, trying too hard and pushing their bodies beyond what theyre safely conditioned for.

They should be put through a thorough conditioning evaluation before any competitive work.

Im always amazed at guys that play football for 15 years and come out with intact knees.
Ive seen roger craig around at various events in the years since he retired, and the guy looks and moves like he never got hit in his life. Whats he made of?

A lot of it has to do with the size of these guys. They keep getting bigger and faster. Your muscles grow, but that doesn't mean your ligaments can account for it. The good thing is that the rehabilitation is becoming more and more routine, so it is not a career-ender like it used to be.
Ryan Clady with torn ACL in Denver OTA's. Broncos LT most likely out for the entire season. Hopefully the injury Gods will continue good luck on the Niners.
