We need somebody to lay the wood. No knock on Reid or Bathea, but those guys just aren't intimidating like Goldson was.

And who here didn't see this coming? I think pretty much every 49er fan knew he was massively over-paid and wouldn't finish out that contract. But s**tty teams always over-pay for someone.
I liked Goldson. Having a hard hitting safety used to be such a cool thing, but with the way they are calling personal fouls these days, it's become a liability. Now you want a sure tackler who is good in coverage.
