Breaking: A league source tells me the NFL is investigating the possibility the Patriots deflated footballs Sunday night. More to come.

This guy is an Indy beat writer.

I'm told at one point the officials took a ball out of play and weighed it. Should hear more tomorrow on this subject.

Told if a league investigation confirms deflated footballs it will result in lost draft picks. Stay tuned.

Oh yeah....

Although there hasn't been an NFL team accused or found guilty of this recently, former USC head coach Lane Kiffin — who, coicindentally, was named the front-runner in several reports to become the San Francisco 49ers' offensive coordinator — was accused of doing the same against Oregon in 2012 before losing his job during that season.
Each team has their own 12 balls, if they are checked before the game (I assume) then NE deflated them during the game.

Sneaky.

Deflate gate
This is all a bunch of b******t started by the NFL itself because Rodgers/Luck didn't make the cut. People will be spoon-fed Seattle as a darling, as America becomes Seahawks fans, and rallies behind the crying QB.

yup they did the same disinformation brainwashing for the murderer-turned Chiristian Ray Lewis two years ago....and it influenced the refs and denied Gore, et al. a ring
Yea.....because deflated footballs directly contributed to 200 yards of rushing.
If they get punished, does this mean we will get to see them have another perfect regular season just to lose in the Super Bowl again?

Theoretically speaking its easier to punch out a fully inflated ball compared to a flat ball but thats no excuse for a 45-7 butt whipping.

OMG more (dug up) news on this moron, please do not hire!!!!
Let's ignore for the moment the difficulty of carrying off this nefarious scheme by the evil Belichek, this is the only reason New England won and the team MUST be punished. Indianapolis was the better team on Sunday -- CHEATED out of victory.

- One or more referees handle the ball before every play. Any ball that they do not like the feel of can be rejected.
- Each team has 12 balls kept by the ball boy. The referees select which ball to take onto the field.
- During a rainy games, balls are continuously being cycled onto and off the field by the referees increasing the odds of discovering the FOUL play of a delated ball.

Given this, how is a deflated ball snuck onto the field without the referees discovering it?

Pats - leopards can't change their spots.

We're not talking about one deflated ball here. There were 11 out of 12 balls down to 10.5 psi.

Regardless, officials don't grab the ball thinking is this the correct weight. They grab it to put it in play.

The quarterback would be or should be the one that would notice the difference.
Apparently Brady said he didn't notice the difference, which is a lie.

This really isn't about the Colts getting blown out. It's about breaking the rules. That's it.
In the Colts game it didn't matter. But what about the close games that were played in he frigid cold and rain?
That deflated ball would make a big difference in that kind of condition.

Not to mention if they would do this what else could they have done?
I forgot what radio station I heard this from, but supposedly Baltimore tipped off Indy and supposedly NE has been doing this before.
New England is top 3 or so in not giving up turnovers. If a RB has softer ball, it's harder for them to fumble. So it doesn't just help Brady.
Patriots make money for Goodell. He aint doing s**t.
