Nah I'd rather have Tomsula but I'm not thrilled about the 49ers choice either. Thought Fangio would be the guy and Tomsula possibly promoted to DC before HC.

I don't even know what to think. I have lived and breathed Niners since 1974, that will never change. If this doesn't work out very quickly I want another change immediately. This team doesn't need a major rework, it just needs a,little touch up and attitude.
I like Tomsula the man, he seems to be a great motivator, but if this team regresses and isn't competitive I want him gone. Just like the Hags did with Mora, no results, no job.
As far as HC goes, I think the Raiders had the good hire, he was in fricking Jax of all places. But the Raiders won't give him a long leash either. I would trust Del Rio to have learned from his mistakes in Jax.
Most of all I wanted offense and I hope that somewhere there is a big change there regardless of the HC hire.

Hard to say, but I'd rather go with someone new and upcoming (?), rather than one of the NFL "good ol' boys" who's been mired in mediocrity for the past decade or two...or three, in some cases.

49ers. I don't believe anyone that has read any of my stuff would call me a homer, however, in this case, I am going with the "home team."
Del Rio is a tough coach, sort of a "hard ass" kind of guy. He has an edge that makes a lot of players uneasy playing for him. In that atmosphere, it is hard to players to maintain that instinctive mode that results in great play.
Tomsula is also a tough guy but he has a light edge to him. He enjoys what he is doing and that carries over to the players. He can chew out a Quentin Dial for not knowing his playbook but then put his arm around him and send him back into the fire. Players love that kind of guy. He holds players accountable without holding them over the edge of the precipice.
I believe Tomsula is a very good anti-Harbaugh choice.

In other words, Tomsula is a great YES MAN.
I say Oakland, Del Rio won't take s**t from ownership, where Tomsula will have very little say over the roster, and signings, draft picks, that's on Baalke and Jed now.

Remains to be seen, but let's not fool ourselves about Del Rio. He had 3 winning seasons in 9 years in jax and only made the playoffs twice, only getting one win. The best thing anybody can say around here about him is that he went to Hayward High and his family are all raider fans.

Too soon to tell. As for Del Rio being in Jacksonville, I do not see that as an excuse. Jacksonville didn't truly become the Jacksonville that we see it as until after he left. The Jaguars that he took over were after their first coach, Tom Coughlin, was fired. They had some decent players during his tenure and even won a playoff game (I think), but all in all, were a mediocre team. I do think Del Rio has a better shot since he has a better QB, but I don't expect Oakland to outperform San Francisco anytime soon. And regardless as to whether or not people think Trent Baalke wanted a yes man, the fact is, the 49ers will continue to acquire good talent, every year Trent Baalke is at the helm. We could potentially underachieve and become the Bengals (postseason appearances, but no wins), but i highly doubt we are going to suddenly turn into a bad team. Trent Baalke is not Terry Donahue.
