When Jim Harbaugh was hired as the new Coach I was ecstatic and elated! I thought like you that the west coast offense was back and the glory days with it! Boy was I wrong the defense and a strong running game took us to a superbowl but Harbaugh was coaching his brother #threwit! Since then Pete Carroll and other coaches have seemed to figure out this offense and that's the real reason Kap is struggling. Well I still want the west coast offense back and who better to deliver the old coupled with the new then Tom Rathman! That's right this guy played and won superbowls under Bill Walsh! He has coached in Harbaughs offense played under Walshs offense coached under Marrucci as well he ready to go! Jeb turn him loose!

What, about this O, makes you think it is ready to start playing WCO?

An offense is never completely ready, but you have to start the process to make the transition.

But the running game this season sucks ass so he isn't doing a good job so he should be fired. Kinda like all the fire Roman table bangers. Stop drinking the koolaid Harbaugh isn't going anywhere. He was already offered a contract and he turned it down to see if he could get more $$$. Bad move on his part.

Err, no. Our line isn't suited for it. At all. Whether Kaepernick and the receiver squad could pick it up remains to be seem, but you don't transition over to the WCO with a line built for, although not playing very well at, the power running game.
Which edition of the WCO are you suggesting?

Guys who spend about 20 years as RB coaches generally arent doing it because they have untapped head coaching potential.

Agree that the O-line isn't suited for the WCO. But, the 2nd or 3rd question Harbaugh was ever asked in his 1st press conference was: Are you bringing back the West Coast offense? And w/o hesitation he said- "Yes. We're definitely bringing back the WCO." What the hell happened here? Did he lose an argument with Baalke/York or just say forget it, were going with old school-Bo Schembechler run the ball offense?
Frustrating as hell to see Gore fall off the face of the earth as a pass catcher, or never seeing a screen pass because our O-line isn't built for it.
If Fangio is getting Coaching offers from other teams, which wouldn't be surprising, he should be our head coach...don't want to see him coaching on another team.
If he's cool at staying as D. Coord. for now, we should take a serious run at Pep Hamilton.

Just because we loved Tom as a player doesn't mean he is ready or ever will be a head coach. He has been a relatively lower level assistant for a while. Lets see him be successful as a coordinator first and I doubt he'll get that opportunity.
Also, this reminds me of the fans who were clamoring for Singletary because we remembered how much of a beast he was in his playing days. How did that turn out?

Lol at the people who say we don't run the wco. Harbaugh's system is descended from bill walsh's system. The thing is systems are like stories, they constantly change over time as they are passed down from one individual to another. So it is the wco, just harbaugh's wco. It may not look like it because it's built around our qb and running game.

i heard last year that he's not interested in being a coach and that he's too old. That's why he hasn't been interviewed as a coaching candidate.

What I remember, under Walsh and Siefert, are shorter passes, using the running back as a pass-catcher as well as a runner, and hitting receivers in stride.
At what point, after being passed down from one individual to another, does the term lose real meaning?

Tomsula the HC for motivation, Fangio stays as DC and bring in a top notch OC and give him keys to the car and full autonomy to call his own plays.
