We let one, once in a generation pass rusher get away in Charles Haley and it cost us at least one or two more rings. Aldon Smith is one of those few players who decide the outcome singlehandedly. Exhaust every avenue to retain his services. He's only 24 years years old, he makes up for any mistakes on the front and back end of the defense.

Finally, someone understands. Aldon Smith is not just a good or even great pass rusher (which is the category I put Robert Quinn in). He's once in a generation. When you are being compared to Reggie White, that's saying something. Maybe it just reflects the average age of the people who want to let Aldon Smith go. Perhaps they didn't see Reggie White.
