Nolan did do well with bringing in new talent to the 9ers. He didn't do anything to fix the culture and was a crappy coach, but he took a team with no talent and gave them just about everything they needed on that level.

The defensive minded foundation that is the niners of today was built from Nolan.He just couldn't CONTROL the team to make them listen.

Thats were Singletary came in. He just didn't know the X's and O's as well as a Harbros.
