Agreed 100% which is how I found this forum and why it's my only source. The forums at 49ers.com even have fans from other teams as mods. Last season one of them was a professed Hawk fan-- seriously..

To be fair I'm a Hawks fan who, check my posts, have said a lot of things about Kaep. I have gotten into little bickering matches defending him to some faithful. I don't go to any other forums. Being a Hawk fan and this not being my teams fan site, I know when to pick and choose my battles and when to just stay silent. I never get mad when someone on this site talks s**t about the Hawks being it's their right on this forum. I actually started coming here because I saw a breakdown of the coaches film and thought that was some of the most insightful s**t Ive seen. Taught me more about the game. Plus half the stuff you faithful post on here is just amazingly funny. Some of the MeMes made me spit my coffee out in the morning. Good stuff!!!!

Webzoners can be completely up their own asses and can treat casual fans here awfully. I've been here for over 6 years and people are still a*****es to me sometimes.

But its one thing to talk s**t on the zone, its another to defect to the other side.

this. every fan base is pretty delusional when it comes to their team. i also find it funny here that people believe we are way better than the seahawks. you can use any excuse that you want, fact is they are better than us right now (not by a lot, still...). until we don't start beating them consistently there isn't too much to debate.

Let's put this into context: the Niners beat the Seahawks at home last year.

The Seahawks pulled out some lucky victories against Carolina and Houston to win the division. SF got hosed on the Ahmad Brooks roughing the passer call against the Saints, costing them a game. As a result, the Niners had to go on the road to Wisconsin in the dead of winter to play the Packers, who they beat. Then they had to go on the road to Carolina to play a tough Panthers team. They pulled out a gritty victory there.

Finally, they made their way to Seattle, where the Seahawks had just rolled over the powder puff Saints. Before the game even started, the Niners were already disadvantaged by their road in the playoffs (which is by design, of course). So was it an even match in the Championship? The fact that it came down to the last play speaks volumes about the Niners resilience, not the Seahawks dominance. Give them credit for ultimately winning the game, but they were hanging on pins and needles at the end.

One thing is for sure, a huge chunk of fans on this site cannot take criticism directed at the 49ers. If a writer or reporter says something negative about the team (even if it's well-founded and objective), the reaction 90% of the time is character assassination and "oh, who cares, that guy is a hack anyway, his opinion doesn't matter anyway."

That's been my observation as well. Far be it from me to complain. It's abundantly clear that opposing fans aren't welcome (or even encouraged to come here). However, I'm still trying to figure out if all this is some sort of inside joke, or if some people really have skin that thin... I'm guessing it's probably mostly the former.

Research it. But the answer is simple. There comes a time when emotions are running really, really hot. Your team has been beaten. Your favourite player has just been stretchered off. Whatever. Then a fan from the other team bounces onto your site and rubs your nose in it. Everyone, just everyone is thin skinned at moments like this. And the other guy can't resist crowing.

So there it is. Fan sites are places for fans to go to celebrate or commiserate with like minded people. We tolerate fans of other teams when they remember whose site this is, but they generally lose it before long. Or they give up like my favourite named poster, HomoForRomo.

In January I will have been coming to this site nearly daily, if not multiple times a day, for 10 years. I have seen looooong threads with open discussion about criticisms on the 49ers on this forum. Threads dedicated to criticizing coaches, gm's, owners and players. Anyone who is reasonable in their criticism is likely to get a decent discussion going. A troll inciting a reaction is going to get booted, and it has nothing to do with the message, but rather how it's delivered 90% of the time. The Webzone rules can be strict, and from time to time mods get their panties in a bunch and target members a little bit, but it's the fairest and least cliquie Niners forum on the internet imo.

We can always assume that the story is blown out of proportion and that our players are innocent. You know like the way all Niner fans assume Richard Sherman's PED was completely innocent and it was obviously the tester was trying to dirty his sample because he was bribed by Uncle Eddie. It obviously worked on Browner who couldn't challenge the test because of timing but Sherman proved the tester was dirty and therefore proved the Niner organization is guilty of bribery AGAIN.

Damn you guys are slimeballs.

In all seriousness stop with the minimizing. We all know he is guilty and deserves punishment. We also all know he won't be charged. You really only make yourself look bad trying to suggest "we just don't know. he is scum and anyone who doesn't see that is scum too.
