It appears so. While I understand the need to reduce concussions, it seems sad to punish guys, like Willis, who are so fundamentally sound. The players who spear or are always going for head shots should be targeted. But the play where Fitzgerald stayed up after a number of hits makes it clear that there will be problems with this new philosophy. Lynch will just walk down the field with guys falling off him.

I still find it fascinating about how many posts are about how the refs are overwhelmed, and that the NFL should simplify it for them.......when it is blatantly obvious that the over-complication was the exact intent of the NFL so nobody could be held accountable.
I don't know s**t about the NCAA but I am going to start following it as of now. To me the NFL is officially dead
NCAA is 1000000000x better right now. Was watching FSU play and I saw sooo many plays that would been penalties against us that went uncalled. Only thing that sucks is that there's a lot of blowouts in college so you'll have to get used to that.
Luckily I'm moving to Germany next year so I'll be watching and following REAL futbol.
I'll take the watered down NFL...or the USFL, WFL, XFL, Lingerie League and pee-wee football over soccer any day of the week.

Consistency lol.. That would imply tossing flags at any player saying n***ah - but ofcourse only the villainous 9ers are flagged for language.

For the conspriracy theorists (or those with their heads in the sand), there is a 30 for 30 episode tonight (9PM EST) on point-shaving in college basketball. It's called, "Playing for the Mob."

apparently the NFL can make things look exciting and still fool you.

Yesterday during the andre johnson late fumble, the booth ref called it without a doubt incomplete, and the refs called a fumble and confirmed it in NY. There is the problem. The rules are just too subjective. The calls depending too much on the eyes and perception and interpretation of who is making the call.
