Ian Rapoport @RapSheet

Packers and Jordy Nelson have struck a deal. It's a 4-year extension worth $39M, source says. Huge. $14.2M guaranteed.

#Packers WR Jordy Nelson averages $9.76M on his new deal, which is a large upgrade. He gets an $11.5M signing bonus. Well-deserved
Give Crabtree that

Receiving Yards per Route Run from 2011-2013: Michael Crabtree 2.269, Jordy Nelson 2.261. #49ers
Guess there goes any and all hopes Jordy would some day be a 49er.
good for him, always like jordy as a player. something about white wr's who can ball
dude earned it. that f**ker catches EVERYTHING!
Converted from safety to WR in college, and he plays like it. Dude plays as tough as any WR not named Boldin.

That seems like fair value, IF the 49ers feel he can stay healthy for most of the contract.
Jordy is worth every penny.

Sets a bar for Crabs.

Agree. Hopefully we can get Crabtree with something similar with an incentive based deal to get him at those #s. Pay based on catches, yards & games played. Work your magic Baalke.
Crabtree is very good...and he hasn't had Aaron Rodgers throwing to him either. Nelson has been underrated but any observer of the game knows that he has been a stud in GB the last few seasons.

Living in the area we get a lot of exposure, and he is just a good guy. No saint, not a choirboy, just a good guy who works hard both on and off the field. Blue collar type. Harbaugh would love him. I have wanted him to be a Niner since shortly after the Packers drafted him. I had thought it was a possibility that they let him walk in favor of some of the younger guys, especially after drafting Abbrederis who seems to have a similar style.
