So far this has happened:
Replaced OC Kevin Gilbride with this McAdoo guy from Green Bay
Signed Walter Thurmond
Signed DRC
Signed Trindon Holliday
Brought back Manningham
Lost DT Linval Joseph
Lost Justin Tuck
Lost Hakeem Nicks
There have been other transactions but not that important.
On paper that seems like a pretty good offseason. I'm trying to look at it objectively....it "feels" like they have improved more than they probably will. Just having Manningham back is enough to trigger bad memories since SB 46 was the last game on their roster.
One thing for sure is that their defense was playing well last year and has gotten better. Their secondary is probably better than ours right now. They might be a top 10 defense now if their front 7 start to play better.
That freaking team has always been so boom/bust.....a few things go wrong and they are terrible, and they get away with a few things and they are so tough. They were lucky to catch lightning in a bottle that 2011 post season, and I just hope they don't return back to that form.
We need to go to Metlife this year and discipline them, bring back that reality that they are still in rebuild mode. The rest of the NFC West can go to town on them as well.
