The St. Louis Rams could be in the process of re-locating to Los Angeles, a St. Louis media outlet is reporting.
The team, which had been located in Los Angeles before moving to St. Louis in 1994, is in the final year of a lease with the Convention and Visitors Commission, which runs the Edward Jones Dome. There has been rampant speculation that owner Stan Kroenke has been been seriously considering a move to Los Angeles, a city hungry for a football team.
Now a report from ESPN Radio in St. Louis indicates that the Rams have already planned a move and will announce it publicly after Super Bowl XLIX.
Many have already suggested that the St. Louis Rams could relocate to Los Angeles. In early September, St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist Bryan Burwell wrote that it will take a region-wide effort to keep the team from moving, a tall task given the state of politics in the region.
"Stop looking at this as a stadium issue and instead envision it as a larger plan that will revitalize the entire region. The most troubling part of the political heel dragging that St. Louis is infamous for is that it plays right into Los Angeles' hands. The more St. Louis waits, the more Gov. Jay Nixon proceeds with trepidation, the more incentive it gives Kroenke to find a way to put LA in play.
"The thing I wish would happen now is for someone in power to declare if we actually want to keep the Rams. If we do, then stop messing around. Put a deal on the table for Kroenke to consider. Give him some of that valuable land that is along the Mississippi riverfront from the new bridge all the way down to the shadows of Busch Stadium. Land, land, land, land. That's what billionaire real estate developers value most. Give him some land and let him join in a vision to expand the Gateway Arch project to even greater and spectacular proportions."
There have been other signs that the St. Louis Rams could be re-locating to Los Angeles. Earlier this year owner Stan Kroenke purchased a 60-acre tract of land in Inglewood, California, through an affiliate company, leading to speculation that he was planning to build a stadium after the move.

"The Los Angeles Times reports Rams owner Stan Kroenke purchased a 60-acre lot in Inglewood, Cal. that "could potentially be a used for an NFL stadium."
According to reporter Sam Farmer, Kroenke appears to have owned the land since at least late 2012. The terms of the Rams' St. Louis lease allow the team to move penalty-free beginning after the 2014 season. In and of itself, the purchase isn't a smoking gun that the Rams are L.A. bound, but it certainly ups the stakes in the team's St. Louis negotiations. Acquiring land is just one in a litany of hurdles any team would have to clear before packing up and heading to Hollywood. Local laws and regulations have made it nearly impossible for a viable stadium deal to emerge. That being said, owning both the team and the necessary land puts Kroenke way ahead of past failed suitors. It's not a good development for fans who want the team to stay in St. Louis."
The Rams moving back to LA would be interesting.

Exactly, sorry but the raiders were never embraced in LA.half the fans that showed up for their games were loyal raider fans from oakland making the trip.there is no passion for that team in LA like there is in oakland.that stadium was half emtpty all those years after they won the superbowl in LA.despite the worst start in the history of their franchise, they are selling out all their games in oakland and thats because there is passion for that team there.LA has passion only for the rams.not raiders and like he said, thats where the raiders belong so yeah, suck it up.

Little update on all the Hollywood Park/#NFL/#Rams/#Chargers/#Raiders stuff: Owner of the HP site (Terry Fancher of Stockbridge Capital ...
Has asked for in excess of $500M for the property. One source said he asked for more than $600M at one point. He paid $260M for it in 2005.
If the land is purchased, even at $300M or so, that cost comes on top of construction cost for a new stadium, which is prob north of $1.5B
All that cost is before you even get to possible relocation fee ($500M, some have said) that the NFL could charge over a 10-15 year period.
In other words, while #Rams & #Raiders (but NOT the #Chargers, yet) have looked at Hollywood Park extensively, it's costly. Lot to work out

it'd be just like goodell's NFL to bungle this up & piss off 3 fanbases
- piss off LA Rams fans & foist a disgruntled franchise into staying in StL
- piss off the oaklnd fans
- piss off the SD fans
i'll throw in the smattering of st louis football fans if all 3 teams make it to LA
IMO:
Rams would make the most sense...they are pretty much moribund in StL (upcoming season will be lame-duck) and they have a waiting fanbase in LA
raiders would be better suited riding Stan Kroenke's coattails in Ingleweood than betting their horse on Spanos and the bolts...Kroenke can actually privately-finance his own stadium
spanos has basically just commited PR suicide with SD in this hostage move to ransom public $$$ from the city...davis is guilty as well w/ oakland, but at least both parties are obviously broke
