We Have the 30th pick in the 1st round? Heck Yes I'd give it up for Josh Gordon. I like Crabtree but dude has no separation speed and for whatever reason, Crabtree doesn't run slants and inside routes to use his Big 220lb body to shield the ball. We'd still have 2 2nds, 3 3rds and Josh Gordon? This would be a no brainer for me. I'd do it if I was GM. I'd also try to resign Quan to a One year heavy incentive deal worth up to 6$mil or $7 mill and Let Iupati walk. and either start Looney or sign a cheaper veteran Guard. Those are a dime a dozen. Look that the Super Bowl Matchup, The seahawks have that Sweezy dude at guard, a 7th round pick former defensive lineman and the Donkeys have Manny Ramierez and Vasquez?? Theyre not high priced dudes. Why cant the 49ers find cheaper Guards??

josh gordon, dez bryant, adrian peterson, anyone else you'd like us to trade for? as for the guards, we never really have paid them a lot, we've let good guards go over money like justin smiley. iupati makes what he makes based off of being a 1st rounder. alex boone is on a great contract.

We wouldn't need to resign Boldin, we'd save 4 or 5mil, and would have a top 3 NFL receiver under contract for two years who would immediately be our #1.
if this were true he would have been traded already. either they werent serious about dealing him, wanted way too much for him, or he really wasnt as available as everyone think he is/was.
Reading this again, I'm not sure if you're agreeing with me or what? They obviously wouldn't trade him for only a first.
His value has skyrocketed since there were "trade talks" about Josh Gordon. He just had an all-pro year and lead the league in yardage. He put up 1,646 yards and 9 TD's in only 14 games! 150 more yards Antonio Brown and Calvin (#2 and #3) and he had NOBODIES throwing him the ball. On top of that, he stayed out of trouble all year and has been a model kid from the outside. I thought he was a top-notch player but nobody thought he would be this great in only year #2 in the NFL.
The only knock on him has ever been him for smoking pot which if you read the recent news by Kluwe and Nate Jackson, is pretty common in the league. He's a franchise player at this point with two years left on his contract getting paid nothing! You don't trade him unless you can't afford him or somebody's willing to break the bank for you.

Dude, Josh Gordon or dez Bryant on this team and we'd have a game to play in two weeks because they both have the SIZE and SPEED to get by these Seachicken monster CBs. C'mon now. Who on the 49er team is better then Dez Bryant? or Josh Gordon. All I'm saying is since Baalke cannot scout or draft WRS, why not trade for proven young ones with our 1st rounder and problem solved.

cause this isn't Madden where you can trade for just any player you want. these dudes are simply not available. NO WAY the Browns trade Gordon now with a new coach coming in.

Again...I doubt he's even available.
If they did make that trade, how much do you have to pay him in 2 years (and in reality, it's one year because he'll be looking for a new contract with 1 year left)? How do you resign Crab, Iupati, Kap and Aldon. The only reason Gordon might even be available is because he's had substance issues which means he's one strike from a long suspension. If that weren't the case, there would be no story.
This isn't how the 49ers operate. They will use their draft picks to get guys who will be strapped to their rookie contracts for several years.
Yeah, I don't think he's available and there's no way he'd be available for only a first after the year he just had. You know what, you sign him over Crab and Iupati no question. He's on par with Aldon in terms of being one of the best at his positions, at a tough position to fill. I probably wouldn't resign him because all-star WR's want too much $$$$ for the value they bring to their team, but keep him on board for two years. Would you not trade a first for two years of Julio Jones or Calvin Johnson, considering you're paying them nothing??
When you have a team this talented, with this many draft picks and you already know you're not going to be able resign all of your great players - you can make this type of trade.

Heck, I would give them a 1st and a 4th for him. We are talking about in my opinion one of the best receivers in the game and if u think he's going to resign with Cleveland, think again. One year deal for Anquan and you let Iupati and Whitner walk.

not saying i agree or disagree with the OP but:
1 - Gordon is still a young player and would be a long term solution
2 - kap has is issues, but that's an independent from trying to improve long term at WR.

well..... in his defense we are talking about the Browns....................... but yeah, no sane organization would trade away Gordon.

Cleveland is stupid but not stupid enough to trade Gordon for the a low first round pick. He's easily worth two firsts and change.

i dont think anyone doubts that gordon or bryant would help the team. the key is to try to realistic about those teams trading those guys, and whether the 49ers are the type of team to do those moves. i think its pretty clear the 49ers are not the type of team that would play fantasy football and start parting with 1st round picks for these guys. we dont even go after high priced top tier FA`s. we`ll go for more dorsey`s and skuta`s this offseason like we always do. sure it would be great to trade 1st rounders for all pro`s and sign top tier FA`s, but its just not what we do. i think at some point packer fans and steeler fans realize they arent going to do those types of moves and thats the category we`re in.

I'll preface this by saying I'm not sure how anxious the Browns are to trade him...they're bringing in a new coaching regime, so it could be that they're counting on Gordon as a cornerstone. Or maybe they're willing to deal him for a trove of draft picks to rebuild. Either way, do not think the 49ers at 29 or 30th pick would get it done.
But hypothetically speaking, if they were able to get Gordon for a 1st round pick, imo it would be worth the risks...and that's plural because there's always the inherent risk of injury, but beyond that it's the risk he screws up again and is lost for considerable time, or that because of his contract he's here for only a year or two.
But I think he'd be worth it. Obviously that means Boldin would be gone, and possibly Iupati, but I think the 49ers could survive those losses and with Gordon still end up with a net gain, i.e. offense/team would be better.

1600 yards in 14 games catching passes from the bums the Browns played at QB this year? I doubt the Browns would trade him at any price.

Exactly but if for some reason they acted like the Browns they would trade him but for an outrageous deal.
If I was GM and I had a top five pick I would trade that for him rather than draft Watkins.
