I can see a headline 40 years from now: the NFL is facing unfunded liabilities in its pension fund as modern medicine has helped players to have better quality of life and longevity. One of the moves the league is considering is to replace union players with players from outside of the USA through temp agencies. These H1B-visa players will be covered by insurance plans provided by the placement agencies.
