It's tough to score in the NFL from the 8 to 10 yard line. Less real estate and if you run on first for little or no gain you're almost forced to pass on 2nd and 3rd downs.

Two wrongs don't make a right. You can't maul a WR with your back to the ball. If refs call that consistently - it will be tough to complete more than 10 passes a game.

Brady did same thing Kap gets ragged on for. Bad overthrow on potential TD, lock on to 1 receiver.
