While they do get called for it more than anyone, Seattle does get away with more holding and PI penalties than any other team. I firmly believe they are coached to do it, knowing that the punishment is far less damaging to them than the crime. Wouldn't you rather give up 5 yards a few times a game (no way will the refs call it every time) and essentially never give up a long pass than play within the rules and risk getting beat deep? It's a sound strategy really, and it is a big part of the reason the Legion of Boom has such great stats. It's dirty as hell, but it's a great strategy. I applaud the OP's intent, but obviously a letter like this is not going to do anything. But hey, I applaud his effort. If Seattle is going to intentionally cheat, we need to do anything we can as fans to give our team the best chance to win and remind everyone that we can to look for it and encourage the refs to call it when they see it.

Dear Goodell:
After I spend the evening following the super bowl holding you down on your living room floor and touching your eyeball while your restrained wife watches in confusion and horror, I'm going to hatef**k you. Please stop f**king up my football.

They don't play within the rules. And they do get away with it so far much more often than not.

The NFL argued the exact opposite of this in the US Supreme Court... They argued if the NFL outcomes were predetermined and games scripted, people would still buy tickets... They are sports entertainment.

They are correct and I agree. People would still buy tickets. One needs look no further than professional wrestling. Not only are the outcomes predetermined...the wrestling match is not even real and yet people still buy tickets.
My point is that not as many people would buy tickets and their popularity would suffer. If I was a Cleveland Browns fan and knew my team would never have a shot at a championship why would I continue to buy season tickets? (Oh, they really don't have a chance. Bad example)

good thing the OP pointed out who was playing. I'm sure he's not aware.

Everyone knows that Seattle plays dirty. They hold on every play. Not just hold, but grab, tug, shove, all of the above. They aren't going to consistently get penalized for it (for reasons I still can't fathom) and it is pretty sad that the NFL lets them get away with it. Furthermore it appalls me that they get to call themselves the #1 ranked defense while clearly they don't play within the rule book. That being said, openly b*tching and complaining about it is not going to make them throw more flags (if they haven't done it already then it's a lost cause) and is a big reason why people call us "Whiners". That, and becasue they can't think of anything else that rhymes. Anyway, the best they can do is go out on Sunday and play just as physical, and don't commit stupid penalties on 3rd and 24 ie..Aldon head slap. If you watched the first game up there you'll notice that they imploded on themselves in a 12-3 game late in the 3rd quarter. They moved the ball into the red zone 3 times and didn't score. I guess my point is that the grabbing and holding didn't effect the outcome of that game. The Niners still moved the ball, just didn't capitalize when they should have.

That's for your opinion and while you are absolutely, 100% accurate, it won't mean jack poo.
We just need to beat them within the confines of their game. It IS possible.
