Done deal, he took a paycut as part of a new mutliyear deal. Saves $13M in cap room according to PFT.
Wow. You have to applaud their front office for keeping him on and saving themselves that much money in cap room.
Oh sure! $22 mil in GUARANTEED money over the next 2 years is an incredible deal.... for the rest of the division, that is. He's been a fantastic player, but nobody thinks he's the player now that he's been in the past. He's been much less productive, he's lost more than a step and his ability to stay healthy at this point is a big question mark.
That is a lot of money for a guy that has played as long as he has, however, he has kept himself in very good condition. He isn't a broken down shadow of himself such as Moss was by the time he came to SF. Also, I would suggest a good part of his lack of production this past season was due to the QB problems after Palmer went down.
AZ accomplished a lot this past season despite missing a lot of key players. I don't think they need much more than healthy players that do not get suspended for an entire year in order to win the division.
