I may be in the minority here, but I would be against hiring Kubiak as OC. He runs the zone block scheme and we have grinder OL who don't fit the scheme.
As for Roman, I think he'd do a great job there, and probably would take Donatell with him for DC (which he deserves) to fix that secondary. We have Mangini to fill that role as CB coach (remember Ty Law, Asante Samuel, and Rodney Harrison? Yeah, Mangini will be great with our developing young secondary).
according to alex boone we run both zone blocking scheme and man

Good coaches get the best out of their personnel. And you really can't take anything away from Kubiak as a play caller. Not that it means much, but I think we'd be a great fit for him.

I've always been a fan of the Kubiak offenses. Good GMs can field a great offense for little money. If you look at the Texans offense, it really overrated from a personnel standpoint. He always has productive TEs and Owen Daniels is a solid pro, but far from a star. Their Oline probably makes only a fraction of what we pay ours. Foster/Tate (IMO) are just products of the scheme. Schaub is just an average QB that has the luxury of a play-action and Andre Johnson.
We are much-more talented and we have lineman that can move. They're not ideal for zone blocking, but they'd pull it off successfully.
I know Roman is our guy, but I've always wanted Kubiak. He's best suited as an OC anyway.

If they decide to fire Roman I would definitely at least look at Kubiak for OC. His zone blocking scheme seems to produce a 1000 yard rusher no matter who is back there although we don't necessarily need help in that department. Our OL are maulers but they pull constantly and can move. Staley, Iupati, Boone are all atheltic. Davis and Goodwin not as much as those guys but Goodwin will likely be gone and could draft a center who can run or use Kilgore who probably can since he is lighter. Like strickac said they can throw no names in and have a good ol we could actually let go of Iupati and Goodwin and get a few cheapers guys in there. Kubiak could be OC/OL coach if we wanted him to be. That or bring one of his guys to do that. I don't know Solari just doesn't impress me. I'm not impressed by Morton or Roman either though. Wish our offensive coaches were as good as our defensive coaches.

I kind of feel bad for the guy. I don't know that you give him a break. But he just had a stroke. Did they need to do this mid season? I think they could have at least let the season play out until the end. I'm not a big fan of firing coaches mid year. Especially not in this case. I believe you let the year play out until the end and then replace your coach. At least in this case it would give the guy more time to heal and then you deal with it at seasons end. Is it different? Yes maybe it is. It just seems overly cut throat to fire a coach with a major health problem like that before the season even ends.

jon gruden is a joke......he hasn't coached in 7 years.
I think Kubiak (sp) would be a nice coordinator but I don't we have the personell to run his offense. We would have to learn a whole new offense and that's unacceptable for a superbowl contender.

I reckon management felt they had to do something to keep fans still coming to the park even tho the team has now lost what, 8 in a row? Anyway, SD has a point, kind of a low blow to a guy who just had a heart attack. Like they say,
NFL is just a business. No heart, all bottom line.

In this case it's a little too low IMO and could actually backfire and make the organization look bad.
I think they could wait 4 more games for a guy who just had a stroke.

11 losses in a row. A few of those were close losses and they almost beat Seattle but they lost to the Jags twice and the Raiders.
His stroke should not have saved his job.

Kubiak will join the Redskins in some capacity, given Shanahan stays there. He has a long history with that staff.

EVERYONE is going to get linked to that Houston job. It's really a coaches dream job, star players all over the place, best DL in the NFL and the #1 pick in a draft with a legit franchise quarterback. Interest in that position has to be ridiculous.

There are only 3 games left breh?
I would have said they could have just waited 3 games to fire him.
