He was a free agent, at one point he started following the 49ers on Twitter and supposedly showed interest in playing in SF. The guy is originally from Redwood City, so it would make some sense.

In NE he has a seasoned HOF for a QB, an offense that knows how to "pop" has Belichick and a REAL offensive coordinator
