Cooper would've been behind Rogers, Brown, Nnamdi, Brock and probably Cox if we kept six corners. I find it hard to believe he would have seen any playing time.

The guy is playing out of his mind now, let's see how he is as the season goes on.
Sorry we missed out on Cooper, but glad he is excelling in KC!

"2. Marcus Cooper, CB, Chiefs: Cooper was drafted in the seventh round this past April … by the 49ers. He failed to crack San Francisco's roster, so Kansas City claimed him off waivers. All he's done there is pick off two passes, break up six and rank as Pro Football Focus' fourth-best cornerback in the league this season. Cooper has been a godsend in the Chiefs' secondary, picking up the slack when Brandon Flowers was out of the lineup. The 49ers have to be kicking themselves for letting him get away."

Fourth best corner in THE LEAGUE. Probably would see the field. We are good just not that good.

He wouldn't have gotten a chance to prove it here.

Exactly. See LaMichael James.

Who will next year be behind Marcus Lattimore
he wouldn't have played. this team is funny about rookies getting extensive time if there is a vet there... if there is nobody already there with a spot then you'll get your shot.

Considering how well they've been playing this year, I disagree with you.
When your deep as we are you will lose a possible star or two on a yearly basis.
Always happens.

Someone slips through the cracks.

No use crying about spilled draft picks.

Brock was our 3rd corner before Culliver (2011). Brock stunk it up in the championship game vs the Giants which is PART of how he lost his job the following season. Lemonier has gotten snaps in every single game this season - he was part of the DLine rotation even before Smith left.
I'm not so sure Brown is gone next season hes our best corner and they have been in talks in trying to get him a long term deal.
Should have kept over Ray ventrone. Lol.
As for Marcus Cooper, raise your hand if you knew, before he got cut, that he'd be starting caliber. How many of you even picked him to make the final roster?

Anyone can be a perfect GM 8 games into the season. Unfortunately for Baalke, he has to make the decision before the season starts without clairvoyance. If he can get that whole seeing-into-the-future problem fixed we'll be unstoppable.
