LT- Johnathan Martin- bullying inside Dolphins locker room

I see no harm in having rookies carry bags, run errands/chauffeur, or sing silly songs in meetings. That's harmless, team-BUILDING zany fun that everyone can go through their first year and not harm them emotionally, physically or financially (aside from needing to fill up the gas tank a little more often).

Verbal abuse (including racist comments), and extortion - whether the extreme kind described here for Martin, or the seemingly common practice to require rookies to pay for 5-figure dinners - is shameful in practice and needs to end. It's terribly hypocritical of former players to complain about financial troubles and/or depression when the hazing they inflict on their incoming rookies is to cause financial troubles and/or depression. Like bounties, these are locker-room "traditions" that need to be left in the past, starting immediately.

This
Martin sounds like a p***y
This was and is an incredibly sad, sad story. Anyone thinking this doesn't reflect on the others in the locker room(why didn't somebody shut Incognito up?), not to mention coaches and front office, ownership. It kind of mirrors what the dolphin organization has become since the glory days of shula's unbeaten team. They have in effect, become non-entities. We overlook sometimes, just what a classy organization this is, altho we have had our moments. Put a sham for a coach out there and the 9ers responded in kind. We were awful. It proves that a team is only as good as its weakest link, in the dolphins case, Incognito, plus others who "let it happen". I bet you have heard that one before. Anyway, here, we have been blessed since the Walsh/Eddie D days with incredible people, including talent as well as genuinely great, wonderful human beings. When Eddie's sister took over, the F.O fell apart, choosing of GMs, Coaching staffs, went to schidt, and the on and off the field product was about as sub par as you could make it....Not as bad as Miami's however. None theless, with great owners, great coaches, great players, there has never been room for this kind of krap/abuse here, and if there was a bad apple out there , he got a N G D M(not good draft material...altho they called it something else.). We avoided guys like Bellichek took , eg, Hernandez. In Miami it was Incognito, now fired, and doubtful he will find NFL employment anytime soon. You do kinda wonder why out of the entire locker room, NO ONE ELSE spoke up and put and end to the bullying or razing.

In sum, the 49ers are top-down a first class group of guys, and it takes an incident, an unfortunate incident like this to remind us of just exactly what a classy team we have. If there is tiny silver lining it is just that: we are incredibly lucky to have not just a great , fantastic team, GM, Coach and assistants, we have the same kind of players. So here's to the 49ers, players and coaches, GM and owners...thanks guys for making us not just fans, but fans of an incredible organization. I sincerely doubt that kind of stuff would EVER have been tolerated here. Imagine what the Miami fans are thinking of at this moment....

One thing for sure: when the smoke settles, I would bet miami is the squeakiest clean team around....or make that the 2nd cleanest...right behind the 49ers. For that to happen, however, I suspect a blood letting and housecleaning in miami that will stun some of us.

Everyone is lucky this didn't escalate into a very violent situation. If A. Hernandez ever played on incognitos team, he would probably be dead.

Yeah, they have to do something because of the voicemails that Schefter got access. $30,000, $15,000 trips "Big Weirdo", racial slurs, slapping his face, sh**ing down his throat, slapping his mama. This, after the TSA stuff at LAX. I'm surprised Martin didn't go all Full Metal Jacket on them

The NFL has turned into the WWE with all of its drama. Every week it's something with these guys.

What did Romo have to say?

Said a player called him a p***y everyday until he snapped, grabbed the guy's facemask and punched him 4 times in 2 seconds, knocking him to the ground. Later in the interview he slips up and says it was Charles Haley lol.

He also said there was a lot of ben-gay on jock straps, dog s**t in shoes and expensive rookie paid dinners but that there is also a line.

Sounds similar to the Chad Hennings story. Seems like Haley pushed people until they snapped and beat the sh*t out of him.
