The NFL is trying to spread ``Hard Knocks'' around.
At their fall meetings Tuesday, owners approved a measure that allows the league to choose which team will be the focus of the documentary-style show if no club volunteers.
Certain teams would be exempt from being forced to participate in the filming:
- those with new coaches;
- those that reached the playoffs in one of the previous two seasons;
- those that appeared on ``Hard Knocks'' within the preceding 10 years.
So far, only seven of the 32 NFL teams have been on the series, which airs on HBO: Dallas Cowboys (twice), Cincinnati Bengals (twice), New York Jets, Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Kansas City Chiefs.

It would be fun to see what happens "behind the scenes" for once.

That said, I personally wouldn't want our team on Hardknocks. Perhaps I'm paranoid, but I don't like the idea of having potential divisional spies on our premises.

Find out what the fine would be and pay it in advance.

I thought of this before I even opened the thread. I'm sure the NFL will say pay us 1-2 mill so we can use it to market other stuff.

What kind of retarded owners would vote that this is a good idea?

We remain exempt from it by 1.) hiring a new HC every year or 2.) making the playoffs at least every other year. Easy enough.

We are, but I still think it's unfair to put any team on that show that doesn't want to be there. Nice to see someone (Bruce Arians) is taking a stand against the league.

I would be upset as a coach if I was forced to join Reality TV.
