Interesting. Not that the Niners could afford it, but I wonder what the compensation would be

Late round draft pick. Last year of his contract, injured, and not able to extend until after the season.
A team like the Broncos would make sense...dependent on their cap situation.

AB81Rules might be able to cut back on his dosages if you guys keep using common sense like that.

Bucs will pay him whatever he wants and give up their 1st rounder for him, then after the trade clears they will realize they already have two starting safeties

I wouldn't do it. Even if we could afford it for this season. We need extra cap space and will be relying on the draft to replace talent that departs.

When is the CB we signed [Eric Wright?] going to suit up?

I'm guessing as soon as he gets back to 100% health and has a good knowledge of the defense. I think Wright has major potential, we just have to take our time and rehab him mentally and physically.

The way I understand it his health isn't the issue

He went to rehab.....or at minimum talked to a shrink for awhile
Nobody has publicly acknowledged it one of the writers insinuated as much by saying something to the tune of "Wright was on the NFI dealing with the issues that led to the Buccs losing patience with him".
On a related note.....
I could see the Bills trading him for sure, they don't seem to have any interest in re-signing him and the secondary has played fairly well while he is out with his injury. But they'll likely just take the comp pick for him after he leaves in FA because even if they want him back it'll probably be a lowball offer because of his injury.
