49ers sign wr Chris Harper

Interesting signing.

Good to hear that Seattle was attempting to have him stay on their PS by refusing the Niners offer of a spot on their roster. Similar to what Lockette did with the Niners.

They obviously felt that he had developmental potential. Anything to destabilize the 'Hawks is good.

However, Harper better hit the Juggs machine. He needs to markedly improve his pass catching skills.

Otherwise he'll truly develop into a Delanie clone.

Look at what the cat dragged in-hahahaha.... Harbaugh just likes dicking with Carrol. Plus getting insights to the playbook and what the chickens are doing ain't a bad thing. If he pans out like the chickens hoped in putting him on the ps thats just a bonus. The hawks did it when they took Robinson. Plus the niners maybe looking at him as an H back kind of thing.

The #49ers are looking at Chris Harper not as a WR but as a TE, H-back in the Delanie Walker mold. He's 6-1, 235 pounds.

ah i see

because he can't catch we will mold him into the next delanie

LOL! Truth. Lockette and now this guy. Good luck on the inactive list...you are 5 months behind Gray in the playbook and the H back role is a hard one to learn!

He was. He could be so frustrating one moment and so brilliant the next.
So, if Seattle ends up cutting a player and retaining Harper... does the Johnson trade still go through? Or was that contingent on us acquiring Harper?

Seems like it's possible that we lose both Harper and Johnson.

Harper actually had pretty decent hands in college, not sure what happened up in Seattle but he was never a bad hands guy.
He reportedly scored the highest of any of the draft-eligible wide receivers in the Wonderlic intelligence test at the NFL scouting combine.

yes. KState was a run first outfit. It is his route running and hand that needs polishing. He truly is Delanie 2.0
