NFL Sunday ticket...Is it worth it??

NFL Sunday ticket...Is it worth it??

If you have been a customer for 10 years, you should get it for AT LEAST half off, if not for free completely.

Call DirecTV and tell them you want to cancel because you can't afford the ticket anymore and your wife/gf wants the hopper from Dish. Make sure you are talking to the RETENTION department... They will probably not only give you the ticket for free, but probably throw in some "loyalty" discounts to boot.

I haven't paid for the ticket in 3 years so I know what I'm talking about.

And you can thank me later.....

I live in Vegas and used to go to the casinos to watch Niner games for free.

Glad I can watch them at home - the cigarette smoke is brutal in casinos.

Do this, if your contract is over.

I called 3 days ago and asked to speak with someone is the cancellation department and told them that I wanted to cancel that they were too expensive.
So first they gave me a credit of $15 for 15 months, sweet.

Then I told them, well what about Sunday Ticket, if they could do something for me because I want it but cant afford the price they are asking for.
So the guy offered it to me for free if I signed up for a one year contract, which i def did.

But it does not have online access (it was $75 extra) so I acted like I was not sure about the offer and that I was still thinking of cancelling... so then the guy tells me that he can give me a one time credit for $50 so in reality I only paid $25 for the online access.

And lastly they threw in show time and stars for like 4-6 months, I forgot.

I hope this works for my fellow zoners, go Niners.
Hey guys. Resident WNY niner fan here, and I work for the cable company, so no way that Im getting Directv. I always looked for a way to stream, but was never successful. However, this year, amazon was offering sunday ticket for $40 when you preorder Madden 25. The game is $60, so for $100, you get the game and Sunday ticket. Says its only for computer and mobile devices, but hell, ill try to mirror it from my ipad to my tv thru appletv. There was a big debate in the fine print saying that you actually need directv, or a way to prove that you cant get it. However, EA sports and amazon have confirmed that you DO NOT need directv, and that each game comes with unique code to view online. If it doesnt work, Amazons return policy is great, and I get a refund for that portion. Maybe this will help someone out. Check it out!
You can get Sunday Ticket bundled with Madden 25 Anniversary Edition on Amazon for $100.

Pretty sweet deal, you can just sell the game for $50 if you don't want it.

This is true I have had the ticket since year one. Every DTV customer pays the cost of Sunday ticket in their package so what they charge "extra" for the Sunday ticket package is gravy. I have not paid for it for several years either. Some times the discount the ticket and then give you so much off your regular package to make up the difference other times they just give it to me free. Many times they throw in some set of channels extra for free. But you must get switched to the retention department because the regular joes cannot help you.
Don't look now but it could be headed to Google, especially YouTube.
I heard a buddy of mine who is a Redskins fan used a Washington D.C. address and gets all the locals from D.C. so he does not have to get NFLST. I do not know step by step how he did it but I am about to inquire.
Yes yes and yes. I live in jersey as well and without it im stuck watching the bumb ass eagles!! I hate watching it online cuz its either not clear or freeze. Its a must
Use a fake/out of state address? Lol.... just call up DTV and you will get what you ask for... it is not difficult, I PROMISE!

Just remember: RETENTIONS DEPARTMENT (These guys literally have authority to pull all kinds of strings - hell, they get a commission for customers they "save"!)

I called Direct TV to cancel they lowered my monthly 30 a month. They offered Sunday ticket for free, I asked for sunday max as well. They stated it would be 140 dollars I chose Sunday ticket only. Then I upgraded online for Sunday max and paid 18 plus for 4 months. I need the max cause I work on Sundays and will watch via my mobile phone.

I could have watched the games online for free but it was worth it to me to guarantee good quality and be able to watch even if I was away from a computer.
I bailed out on DirecTV some years ago because of the expense. For games not shown locally here in North Carolina I follow the games on the NFL website, then watch the next day on NFL Game Rewind ($29/year). I've tried watching live with the pirate websites but there are lots of dropouts and I don't have the patience to go searching.

Another option is to watch the non-prime time games at a local restaurant/pub. I found one that had TVs at each table. When you factor in the food cost, it probably doesn't save you money, but at least you get fed. I did do this one year, when the cost for the NTLST was $400 including tax. More recently the cost has been closer to $200 so I have opted to renew.
save the money and use it towards spending it on beer/food at a bar with buddies.
