Why does the NFL not allow all 53 players to dress for Gameday?

With the growing concerns of injuries and giving players more breaks, plays off. I can't think of one positive to not dressing all the players who make the team.

Stupid Rule IMO

Discuss.....
I don't like the rule either.

I believe the purpose behind the rule is that they did not want to give healthier teams a large advantage over injured teams. If you have 53 players that went through training camp verus another team that has 47 players, and 6 players that were added after the season started due to injuries, then the 53 man roster could sub much more effectively and wear down the opposing team. Personally, I don't think it would make that much of a difference, but that is the argument that I heard in favor of 46 game day rule.

You might also see more specialists if 53 were allowed to suit up. Even today, you see 2 kickers on some teams (one for kick-offs, and one for field goals). Without the 46 limit, you would probably see even more specialists in the NFL.

I think it would only be a positive for the NFL. Would also allow more creativity in the roster makeup IMO

Yep. What I find interesting was that I couldn't find a reason for the 46 man rule in the first place on the internet. We are forging new ground here!
What I hate is the 53 man, why not like 57, give teams an extra spot for ST guys like an extra Kicker or Punter or LS, in case of injuries.

I hate referecing madden, but the game used to have 55 man.
