must say, I'll be surprised if the Denver referees let KC win...

I'm sure there will be some bad/no calls made...but you can overcome that with a dominant performance... KC needs to focus on putting hits on Manning early and take him out of his game. Even if it means 15 yards and a first down.

Not suggesting they should demonstrate poor sportmenship...just that they shouldn't play conservative because the refs will protect Manning.

Chiefs are a damn good team, but if they played the Niners right now, they would get absolutely dismantled!

FTFY.

I bet they take the Chickens. Have you watched their last two games?

Do you both still feel this way?

Yes I still do. I find it amazing that no one is really crediting the Panthers. They are the type of smash mouth team that the Niners tend to fold against.

Did you guys see the intensity their defense played yesterday? Plus they got a tremendous RB committee, Tolbert is a juggernaut.

Sorry guys, but the Niner loss does not make the Chiefs more dominant on their bye week.

If Carolina is smash mouth defense..what do you think KC's #1 NFL rated defense is? Meek?

Please note: I'm not suggesting or hinting that I would want the niners to lose this match up...just that I'm not confident that they would win based on current performances.

Carolina's defense earned my respect after yesterday's game. They pretty much stymied the seahawks in week 1, and now they beat the 49ers. Can't say the same for Chiefs D, they are still unproven to me, plus...didn't they face like 4 back up QB's in the last 5 weeks? Sure they look good statistically, but that's only half the story, imo.

Furthermore, it's not just Panthers D, it's also their running game. The way Eric Reid went to sleep yesterday was scary! Imo, D Will, Stewart, Tolbert, and even Cam, is a type of run game that is going to carry them deep into the playoffs this year, can't say that about the Chiefs either.

i think the chiefs wont let it go down to a refs decision. they play solid ball and they get it done even when their offense isnt working. this team is just a great TEAM
I want no part of KC if we were to get to the Bowl. Post season comes down to the pass rush and their D Line will abuse ours. Give me New England.

As for Den KC. It's the regular season. Bet on Manning.

makes you feel better about CK7 by belittling the chiefs and AS11, doesnt it?

Defensive ranking vs the run: average yards per carry allowed:

CAR: 8th at 3.8 per carry
KC: 31 at 5.0 per carry

Defensive ranking vs the pass: average yards per pass allowed:

CAR: 6th allowing 6.6 per pass
KC: 6th allowing 6.6 per pass

SF would run all over KC.
^ Not if our coaches abandon the run again.

Just pointing out the major fundamental differences between the CAR defense and the KC defense. And that difference is huge when it comes to playing against a team that can run effectively.

Quite a bit. Reid is one of the top three coaches in the league and will have that grinding WCO in gear with some added wrinkles. If KC receivers catch the ball when it comes to them, they will put up enough points to win.

Bob Sutton will also have some extra heat for Manning as well. The great part of the Chiefs pass defense is that they get heat with those two outside LBs without having to commit additional blitzers. They can stay pretty basic so Manning does not see anything that tips the defense. I could see them holding Denver under 24 points.

Points per game, KC is #1, Carolina is #2.

12.3 KC
12.8 Carolina

The only stats that matter. Maybe KC is just better in the redzone..but they bend more? Or maybe you're not considering the fact that KC gets more turnovers?
