Struggles Along the Offensive Line

While Rodney Hudson (-5.7), was the least efficient of their offensive lineman, the blame on Sunday wasn't his alone, with only right guard Jon Asamoah (+1.2) finishing with a positive grade. First overall draft pick Eric Fisher's (-3.2) tough rookie campaign continued, struggling against the run and allowing a sack, a hit, and three hurries from 47 pass blocking attempts. Left Guard Jeff Allen (-1.2) didn't struggle as much against the run, but was doomed by his pass blocking with a sack, two hits, and a hurry allowed. It was the opposite for left tackle Branden Albert who allowed less pressure, but struggled more against the run.

On the whole, the line currently sits fifth from bottom in Week 8 in terms of Pass Blocking Efficiency, with a PBE rating of 71.2, not a good outing indeed.

... and just watched Albert get easily beaten for a 4th quarter sack on a KC flea-flicker attempt... This OL will be the Chiefs undoing. They just don't seem to be getting better. Their OL coach is Andy Heck.. who just came over from the Jaguars.. go figure. Sharpen that axe, Reid.

It's still better to show up and get D's or C's, even F's sometimes to get some type of score instead of nothing.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that Smithers tucking it in / throwing out of bounds is better than throwing a pick six like back in the days.
Seeing Peyton having the Chiefs in his crosshairs is setting up for a blowout season turning lopsided win. Minning sees blood.

like they say
A-Studnets go on to be Professors/Teachers( Peyton,Brees,Rodgers)
B-Students go on to make big bucks(matt staff,Matt Shuab,Romo)
C-Stduents go on to run the nation(smith, eli, Roth, Brad Johnson,Flaco)

Injuries don't seem to be helping but by the playoffs...? Hopefully, they will have their act together! Heck is only 46 yrs old and has coached at Virginia and Jacksonville...hope he knows how to make silk purses!
Man, these guys will go 13-3. They are playing only 3 playoff teams (DEN twice, Indy in KC, and whichever sorry ass team comes out of the NFC East).

I wonder when the last time a pretender went 13-3?
8 weeks into the season and they have not played a single team with a winning record lol. We'd be undefeated too with that cupcake schedule.
I wish some posters would have been traded before the deadline.

Well.. they finished last place and had the #1 overall pick. The way the schedules are made would prevent them from facing many playoff teams. Broncos have actually had almost the same schedule strength so far, but they've lost a game. Denver SOS is .410, KC's .380.

Most of the AFC West has had an easy schedule so far, although believe it or not, the Chiefs/Chargers don't have the easiest schedule. Right now, the Panthers have had the easiest schedule at .350

It was pretty easy. second half schedule is one of the toughest in the league, though.

CAR will have played 5 or 6 playoff teams this year.

Right now it looks like they will face 5 teams that eventually will make the playoffs this year. They play 4 opponents that made the playoffs last year. But what are those "playoff teams" current records? Carolina also wasn't last place last year. They finished 2nd in the division.

this isn't college ball where you basically get to write your own schedule. they have done their job and beaten the teams they played. regardless of their opponent's records, it's still not an easy thing to do.

it's so funny people still need to find any way possible to discredit the Chiefs.

You're reading too much into my comment dude. I'm not discrediting the Chiefs, just pointing out they haven't played a winning team yet. Not all 8-0 records were created equally lol.

Discredit? 8-0 usually means you are King Kong. I certainly would rather face the Chiefs than Pats, Colts or Broncos in the Super Bowl.

When you haven't beat a team with a winning record, what level of credit does this deserve? How outrageous is his discrediting? Do you feel they are odds on favorite to take home the Lombardi?
