This is false. Alex only went below 80 three times... and I am left wondering why you used the number 80... so let's just use the number 70 and see what happens...

And honestly it looks like he may have them. Defense is good, special teams is good, offense has talent. I've been a Smith fan since he played for Utah. I will admit at one point I was watching the game and thought "Well Alex if your not going to spread the ball around, your not going to do s**t". But slowly he is showing that he may be able to spread the field a little more. If it wasn't for Baldwin's drop and a couple others the game before he would've had a decent game. Last game he came out and made some nice throws and started getting the whole offense involved. Biggest problem was his 3rd down percentage again, and that goes back to him not taking chances. To me that's the next thing that has to change. If he can do that I see no reason the Chiefs wont be a legitimite wild card contender.

Thing is he threw the ball 24 times in a half. 17/24 is pretty damn good. He didn't even have that many attempts certain games here. This shows me that if he is asked to throw more he can still get it done with similar numbers as far as completion % and rating. Not to mention his yardage may start to creep up into tops in the league.

But as I said he still has things he needs to do. Basically if he can not be so afraid to turn the ball over I feel that will help out in the long run. Or it may hurt, but as far as RZ% and 3rd down% it will make a huge difference.

For a QB that plays super safe and takes sacks if it doesn't look as wide open as it would for a college QB, Alex fluctuates far too often. He is the epitome of taking what is given but even that is narrowed down to taking nothing if the defense takes his small-ball game away...a situation most of those other QB's can overcome.
