This. I wanted Whitner back, but figured he would likely be gone. I never thought he'd get 8 million per year. This bodes great for us in terms of having to replace a few players here and there in 2014 and 2015.

I've been asking for the 49ers to go the coverage route since the super bowl ended. The NFL isn't going to let you knock receivers out anymore. LaMarcus Joyner from Fla. St. is the guy to replace Whitner. In the same mold as Earl Thomas and very physical in the run game.

He said they could possibly be interested in Ward. Why wouldn't you believe that? Is be willing to bet there's definite interest in him. If he's not signed in the next couple days I bet they bring him in for a visit. I don't think he'll get as much as Whitner is getting.
