Watching that broke my spirits. That rarely happens during a game. The leader of the Defense goes down like that.....Man that was hard to watch.

Get well #53!
Just saw my Ortho doc today and talked about Bowman's injury. Doc said due to the amount of damage, knee capsule specially, Bowman will never be the same player so don't get hopes up.

Meh..they said the same thing about AP. All he did was come back in record time and had one of the greatest rushing seasons ever. At a position where cutting and explosiveness from the knee is vital.

These guys are superior specimens and they get world class treatment. He'll be back.

Yeah, too bad Adrian Peterson was never the same after his ACL/MCL injury.

Not saying Bowman will be same or even 90%, but all due respect to your doctor, he hasn't examined Bowman and is more than likely going off his experience with "everyday" people, not highly-conditioned athletes with access to the best doctors, rehab, and sports medicine that money can buy.

We could always go 4-3 until we ger Bowman back. Or we can have Brooks as a MLB on running downs with Skuta and Corey Lemonier playing OLB and put Brooks at OLB on passing downs and bring in a DB for a LB.

I'm just not getting my hopes up, though. It's a pretty bad injury and not everyone has had the same result as AP. Each person is different. I do hope Bowman makes a full recovery, but I wouldn't want to hurry him back.
Skuta. Maybe Lemonier slide inside. I think Brooks too valuable on the edge to be inside.

I believe RGIII tore his ACL and MCL as well. Although he didn't have his full elusiveness back in week 1, as the season progressed he seemed to look like the "old RGIII" strictly in terms of mobility.

Another thing that helps Bowman is his age. If he were older it would make it more difficult. Not sure why young age makes a difference but it sure seems to help recovering.

no offense intended, but the docs at Stanford are at a higher level.

No offense taken. Only time will tell what his playing level will be.

There was a time that these type of injuries were a career ender.

Those days are long past. I hope he sees a specialist. I'm sure the 49ers' doctors are great...but he should see a specialist as well...just to get an additional opinion.

Well according to one of the most prominent orhopedic surgeons on the planet, Dr. Bert Mandelbaum. that is not necessarily true.

Better, but theyre still 1-2.

PFF actually gave Willis the nod for All-Pro over Bowman.

That's impressive. More evidence that we have the #1 and 2 ILBs in the league.

I think they gave Willis the nod over Bowman because he had a higher run defense grade. Much of Bowman's grade came from pass rushing (not sure how that works. He's very effective in that regard, but we hardly blitz). Regardless, Willis accumulated a lot of grade points despite playing ~200 less snaps than the other guys due to injury,
