Was Deion as a Falcon ever hated like Sherman was? Would you ever accept Sherman as a 9er?

I may love that game more than some of our Superbowl wins (not really but it's close). That whole team was talking like they had already won the game from Jerry Jones to Deion, Micheal Irving even Emmitt Smith who didn't talk much trash was being cocky. They forgot to tell Rice. Epic game.

Did you guys hear the GOAT on NFL network the other day. He basically said he pwned Deoin when they played (which is true!) and then a fan posted a question, "Would Dick Sherman be able to stop you in your prime?" He immediately said "Hell No". He said he'd have 4 or 5 moves for Dick and that he relished defeating bump and run coverage. Oh yeah the GOAT baby!

The GOAT, as far as I can remember, was the only dude that consistently gave Prime fits.

Dude -- Irvin and Deion were literally teasing Rice about his looks, saying he looked like a "Clown" and yeah that they were going to pwn us so bad. Hahahahaha, too bad GB spanked us in the playoffs :(

Yeah they were such punks. But when they walked off the field that night they knew who the GOAT was. Does suck that we couldn't beat GB. If we could there would be no question that the 80s-90s 9ers are the greatest dynasty of all time.

I didn't start watching football until 1995 nevertheless paid attention to it.

Everyone wanted him on their team and there was no doubt that he was a showman and THE elite CB in this league. As for Sherman, his talk doesn't match his athleticism. Sherman is good but he is no Deion and he plays in a system and on a team that accentuates his positives greatly. For instance Deion could go to any team and any system and do what he did: shut down the entire half of the field he played on. Deion was once asked (what type of defense were you guys in?) and he replied "the CAT defense. I got this cat, you get that cat". LOL!! Sometimes he didn't even go to the huddle for defensive calls. He would just wander over to his side of the field and lock onto his receiver with an eye on his guy and the QB while the TEAM was in the huddle and when the QB did foolishly decide to throw the ball his way he always figured that that ball was intended for him and when he picked it he took it to the house. The guy was unbelievable and was worth every penny. Sherman is not that good and I believe that he is system dependent and benefits greatly from the talent around him but he is a great player for SEA

12 games started, 6 picks for 300+ yards and 3 TD's. Dayum =) I loved Prime when he was a Niner. Hated him as a Falcon and especially as a Cowboy.

I watched that game with a house full of Cowboys fans. Me the lone Niners fan. It was freaking great, one of my better early 20's memories.
The falcants were not good enough for deon to be hated like that.

Can't repeat this enough.....

System did not matter.....Dion didn't even go to the huddle most of the time... He just waited for the next snap.

He took out the biggest passing threat on the other team... There where stretches he intercepted more balls then first downs he gave up.

I have never seen somebody 80% of what peak Dion was.

I have seen 80% of Joe ....I have seen 80% of Jerry ....I have never seen 80% of Dion.
I dunno.. I remember hating that show-time candy a** until he put on a Niner's uni.

Sherman is more comical and has actually tackled with frequency. But he still needs to be hit by a dump tuck.

80% of Deion????

LOLOLOLOL!!!!!

Man.. I liked him in a Niner uniform, but he wasn't the god-like DB I have been reading. He was a glamour boy and a little pu**y with speed. Fast as hell and his high-step thing got a little old, but some of these guys today have more than that. Prime-Time.... I remember feeling dirty for even having him here and like he was even more dirty as a Cowboy. Too much hype..

The Sherman guy talks a lot, but you won't see him pretending to be a glamour boy. Heh.. Didn't Sherman level K-Dub? Yeah, Prime Time would have gladly glanced his side. :)
??????? Deion Sanders was the best Corner back to ever play in the NFL, regardless of what you think of his character, you can not deny his skills... nobody has even been close since him, and that includes Revis... I am not a Deion Sanders fan, not even close, but i have to give that guy props, he could play corner like no other.

Deion was a p***y? The guy was returning punts late in his career when he didn't need to. Yes, he didn't tackle well...but he was hardly a wuss.

Sanders was the greatest CB to play the game and it's not even close. He was hated...but feared and he was also one of the must watch player at the time. One of the greatest players of all time...and no CB is close.

Sherman is hated because he isn't as good as he talks.
The crazy thing about Deion was that as good as he was, he could have been better if he didn't have such an active off the field life. AND he played two sports at a high level for certain parts of his career. If you didn't at least hit middle school in the 90s then I won't talk football with you. Because you have no idea how diffrent the past generation was.
I hope you realize that the route Sherman allegedly got burned on in Atlanta wasn't his coverage. Apparently none of you know anything about defense.
