If we lose Aldon there goes the pass rush. If the pass rush goes we are a lot easier for teams to deal with especially the pass wacky teams we will see in the postseason like Atlanta or Green Bay.

Aldon Smith and Justin Smith are. Those 2 make not just our defense but our whole team go. A .500 club or less without them.

Probably Aldon Smith. Look at what a pass-rush can do for a defense. We haven't had a guy like him in YEARS!

Kaepernick's performance against Chicago suggests otherwise.

On top of that, Kaepernick brought us back against the Rams. If Akers pulled his head out of his backside we would have won that game. Alex Smith is replaceable with Harbaugh's tutelage. Don't fool yourself. Jim Harbaugh can teach another QB to make safe throws and not turn the ball over.

Anyway, since age is a factor, I'd have to go with Aldon. Justin Smith is getting up in age, otherwise it would be him without question.
