im seeing alot of nfl and college players with a wrap around the upper part of their arms---looks almost like a tourniquet...anyone know why they wear these? is it functional or just decorative?

Bands under knees are supposed to help circulation when running. Not sure it it works anywhere else, or if these things even qualify. My guess is looks.
