Yes. I thought I was the only one who was crazy on this site but I am pleased that there are others here that had sometimes violent fights laced with expletives with friends or family but never had the law enforcement involved. Bruises, cuts, stitches and the like are par for the course but you live to play another day. You don't however with a felony assault charge

No your not the crazy one. The ones who want him in jail or cut based off of a news story are.
clearly most of the NFL is 60%+ african-american... but why aren't the white players getting in trouble?

Might have to do with the absence of a lot of fathers in those players childhood

The NBA is 90% African American why aren't they getting in trouble? I think the violence of the sport has to do a lot to with it. Also, because of the popularity of the sport, these players are given everything their whole life so they have a sense of entitlement.

Sad, those of you that say Divens should let this slide because Brooks is starter and Divens is a scrub. Your attitudes are why guys like Brooks behave the way they do, they are rarely held accountable. This 260 pound guy once punched a woman in the face who tried to talk him out of fighting someone. Dude is a low life, if he had hit Kaepernick with a bottle or wasn't a star 49er a lot of you guys would be signing a different tune.

You want your non African-American arrests? Here's a sampling:

Hernandez is a Puerto Rican and just a few years ago, the Packers had a caucasian tight end (I forget his name) who got in trouble for statutory rape. Lance Allworth was arrested as a sex offender. Brian Bozworth had some violent anger problems and was arrested at one time. Our own right guard, Alex Boone, was arrested for public drunkeness and violent behavior. Just a few years ago Rothlesberger was arrested for rape. Julian Edelman, assault and battery outside a Boston nightclub. Our own Jeff Garcia was arrested for drunken driving. Todd Marinovich was arrested multiple times on drug charges. Rey Maualuga (there's your Somoan) was arrested on a DUI. Pat McAfee was arrested for public intoxication and disturbing the peace. Igor Olshansky was arrested for illegal drug possession. Chris Simms was a DUI arrest. Mike Vrabel was arrested for theft at an Indiana casino.

Since 2000, there have been about 640 arrests. The Vikings have the most with 40. The Rams have the least with 8. The Niners are near the bottom of the list with 12. The Seahawks are about in the middle with 20 arrests.

There are only 12 active players on a team, so there will be less incidents. Google "NBA player arrested" there are plenty over time, but not as many recently. I think Stern is stricter on bad behavior than the NFL has been.

I think you're right about the violence, but also the sample size for the NBA is a lot smaller.

Matters not if Brooks, Divens, Okoye etc are starters the principle is the same. Weigh your relationship, the incident, and the ramifications if charges are pressed. Definitively determine whether the issue warrants it or not and proceed accordingly. There is no rank amongst men in a private setting on personal property. The incident had nothing to do with the NFL the 3 men just happen to be NFL employees and Brooks was wrong and Divens needed to know what to do so that he could do it. I bet if it were Divens that hit Brooks, he might have smashed him as a vet and we may not have even heard about it but then again how do I know. You either press charges or not but there will be ramifications beyond a couple stitches. It has been a strange incident IMO.

This. In my experience co workers who get into a fight at a bar with each other do not suffer the consequences at work, such as being fired.
