NFL great Junior Seau dead?

Originally posted by BobS:
It is pretty pathetic the family is suing, wonder if it was their idea or a money grabbing lawyer? His ex-wife is part of the suit. Seau made a lot of money for the risks he took, unfortunately Junior was one of the unlucky ones who ended up with debilitating injuries. Saying the NFL covered and concealed the risks of traumatic brain injuries is pretty pathetic. Who does not know repeated blows to the head are bad for you? Some people come out ok after being whacked in the head a lot, some do not.

Totally agree. I also believe most of the current NFL players are not on board with what past players are doing. Go back in history. I can almost guarantee that if someone told these players that repeated blows the head may cause issues it would not have changed how they played.

I don't get why judges don't just throw these ridiculous lawsuits out.

Junior Seau family, now w/evidence of CTE, suing the NFL for wrongful death. Sense lawyers had paperwork ready waiting for results.

This is sad.

Sad cause the family is using Seau one last time to get money.
People like this are why the NFL is falling apart. He knew wtf he was risking, that's why they make so much f**king money. Like his Ex-wife even cares. Money hungry fools.

Why are you shaking your head?

The dude shot himself. This isn't the NFLs fault. If anything it is his families. The stories of his strange behaviour have been reported for a while. Did they try to get him help?

After filing the lawsuit, the family released a statement, saying, "We know this lawsuit will not bring back Junior. But it will send a message that the NFL needs to care for its former players, acknowledge its decades of deception on the issue of head injuries and player safety, and make the game safer for future generations."

complaining about player safety is a joke

It's a cheaper fine to punch somebody in the face than it is to wear your socks "improperly"

b******t. The NFL already knows this is an issue and is trying to do stuff to protect the players. Rule changes, new protocols, etc. This lawsuit isn't going to make the game safer or make the NFL own up to something.

This is a straight money grab. That is all it is. The judge should do the right thing and throw it out.

This.
Players complain about the league getting more strict and its their own fault

Don't sue the nfl for head injuries and expect then not to do something about it

It's still a business at its core
