if he wasn't a first round pick he would have been cut in camp.

Look at it this way. If you view LeMichael James as our first round pick, it won't hurt as bad.
I'll just view this as a bad season. However, he can recover. It would be different if he had opportunities but didn't produce. But hasn't been given that opportunity. It doesn't look good, but we'll see what happens next season with another camp, a good kick in the butt, and the competition that will be brought in.

It sure would be nice to have gotten a WR that could contribute this year. jeeeez. Even with the depth going down in front of him - both Williams and Manningham -- he can't get on the field over a PS player. Ridiculous.
We saw today what can be done with two solid WR's - they were nearly impossible to defend for a while there - grabbing every close throw.
Shoot - other teams got contributions from Alshon, Floyd, Sanu, Hill. And people on this board said we had better depth than those other teams so those guys wouldn't have played either. BULL.
I love the personnel decisions - you can't get them all right. I hope this GM/CS make the quick decision that if he can't play he get's cut. It's tough due to the money, but it's a grown up decision to move on if you made the wrong call.
/2012: Signed a four-year, $6.947 million contract. The deal included a $3.49 million signing bonus. 2012: $390,000, 2013: $705,797, 2014: $1,021,594, 2015: $660,000, 2016: Free Agent
The niners can cut AJ Jenkins and save 2.5 million dollars

Jerry Rice offered to mentor him and Jenkins said no. Not a good way to start. Starting training camp out of shape...not a good way to start. Dropping a perfect pass when you finally have a chance...not a good way to start. It does not appear his heart is in the game or the 49ers. Cash you check and stay home or go fishing like another receiver the 49ers picked high, Rashaun Woods. He is starting to smell like one of them "entitled" guys...full of natural ability and gifted athletically, but a lazy dog with fleas when it comes time to perform among men.

Let's just hope he turns out like another Kap, or crabs. Kap wasn't a favorite because he was drafted in 2nd and didn't hardly play at all yr 1. Then didn't play in yr 2 until alex's concussion. Who knows with AJ? Maybe he will do us the same turnaround. Remember , crabs couldn't get open last yr, in the big games. Many thot our now #1 receiver was a bust. man we will be stacked when kyle, and hunter return.

Did Jenkins even see the field? The fact that Hall and Giin did say all you need to know. He sucks. They are keeping Walker on the field most of the time too.

how can you say bust when he has missed one pass really , the jury is still out on him remember he had late start next year will be the deciding factor

An undrafted guy off the street, who was selling insurance a few months ago, was playing ahead of him in the NFC Championship Game. At this point its more likely that he's a bust than anything else.

Give him a chance man. He has only had an entire offseason and 17 weeks of the regular season and three weeks in the post season to learn the playbook.
