"It appears he will choose the Dolphins (over the Rams)," reports Lombardi, and the decision is tentatively expected to happen on Wednesday. Fisher "feels more comfortable" with the structure of the Dolphins' organization, and he apparently believes the Rams may end up leaving St. Louis for Los Angeles.

"The Miami Dolphins could be preparing to offer Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh a contract worth $8 million per season, league sources said Thursday. Should the Dolphins fulfill the Rooney Rule, which requires teams to interview at least one minority candidate for an open head-coaching job, Harbaugh's hiring in Miami could happen quickly." - Michael Lombardi (Jan. 6, 2011)

The latest Jeff Fisher update is that there is no update.

But we've noticed a torrent of third-hand speculation and some incorrect reports on Twitter Wednesday that he was joining the Dolphins, so we wanted to address the issue.

Jay Glazer of FOX gives us the excuse to dive in.

"Those close to Fisher said he's legitimately torn and going back and forth. He's swung from Rams back toward Fins then back again and now back," Glazer writes.

Apparently Fisher is the new Favre. (If he does this for another three months.) Perhaps Fisher is waiting to see what happens in Indianapolis?

"Fins thought they were out of it this weekend. Rams thought he was coming there. He went to visit Rams, things changed," Glazer wrote.

If we are reading Glazer correctly, Fisher is leaning towards Miami. That's what an NFL.com report indicated earlier Wednesday. SI.com wrote something similar. Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald says a "highly placed" Dolphins sourcedoesn't know what Fisher will do.

Fisher hasn't made up his mind. He has a lot of friends in the media. When he decides, we're sure to find out quickly.

He won't win a division in either place for a few years.

Miami is the best shot, but they have no franchise QB, or so called one like Bradford is.

Miami could even be the 2nd team in east, cause Buffalo went down the crapper, and Jets are plain terrible, Old, and Sanchez SUCKS.

I don't want Fisher in our division, and I hate the Pats and Jets, so hope he goes to Miami.

Rams & Dolphins should consider moving on from Fisher. He's clearly not sold on either place.

I wouldn't be surprised if fisher wouldn't coach in 2012.
at least Jim decided in a day.

I hope the Rams do move back to LA. It never felt right when they left to go to St. Louis.

ProFootballTalk @ProFootballTalk

If Jeff Fisher is choosing between the Rams and Dolphins but neither team has made him a job offer, what the hell is he choosing? Sheets?

Nothing like a guy with 6 winning seasons in 17 years holding 2 franchises hostage

.Oh gotta love bad owners.
I have never understood the love Jeff Fisher receives.
