According to this, Barnwell thinks DeSean Jackson has to develop into a better receiver and right now has too much of the dropsies:
Quote:
There are several players similarly styled to Jackson who have better catch rates over the past three years. Lee Evans and Ted Ginn, neither of whom has lit the world on fire recently, have catch rates narrowly ahead of Jackson.

The game tape also suggests that Jackson isn't catching the ball frequently enough, as the Football Outsiders Game Charting project marked Jackson down for 11 dropped passes last season, the fourth-highest rate in the league. In 2009, while Jackson had a more reasonable six drops, four of them came on plays in which the primary defender was listed as "Hole in Zone" — in other words, passes when Jackson was wide open and let a pass slip harmlessly to the ground.
Barnwell has some more stats, but he thinks, DeSean Jackson is not catching the ball consistently enough so his highlight catches get sorta wiped out by the other balls he does not catch and forces the offense to punt.
At least an interesting point and a good read and if the Eagles front office sees it similarly, that might explain why they have no resigned DeSean yet.
