If you could add one non-QB in the entire NFL to the Niners, who would it be?

Adrian Peterson. Then trade Gore and a 2nd round pick to the Pats for Wilfork.
Trade gore, u are out ur damn mind!!!! Gore is a much better all around back than AP!!!!
first of all AP is the best back in the game and as gore approaches 30, the age when rbs begin their decline, id take AP in a heartbeat, love gore and he prolly is a better ball catcher, but cmon son, theres loyalty, theres bias, and theres just ridiculousness
Gore is less than 2 years older...and I broke down exactly why Peterson is overrated. Why exactly, if Gore is a significantly inferior back, does he have more 100 yard games and yards per carry over the last 2 years despite playing waaay fewer games and running behind a waaaaay worse line? Not to mention Favre's '09 presence keeping defenses honest or Gore's far superior receiving and blocking skills...someone needs to address all this stuff instead of just assuming Peterson is some sort of god.
How exactly is a guy who broke the single game rushing record as a rookie overrated?
LOL. That's ONE game. Is Tom Fears some sort of legend or better than Jerry Rice because he had more catches in one game? Yes, that was a great game. And yes, his first 2 years were great. But certainly the last 2 years Gore has played better, with significant handicaps such as far inferior o-line, never having a passing game to alleviate pressure, etc. And again, Peterson is a one dimensional back that doesn't even stay on the field on 3rd downs. Gore is certainly the best blocking back in the game and likely the best receiving back as well.
Its not one game though. He went for over 250 yards against the 2 best defenses in the NFL in his rookie year. He also was rookie of the year and has had over 1200 yards each year in the league. Not only that but just watching him is amazing, no one runs like him. I don't know how you could call him overrated, he is the best running back in the NFL and it is not even close.
CJ2K>AP
Yeah AP has the brutality in his running style but he fumbles and wears down at times. CJ can take it to the house anytime he touches the ball, and IMO has done more with less. (ie: no passing game)
I don't know its apples and oranges between those 2. If it was up to me I would much rather have AP than CJ. To me its much harder to find a guy who is capable of busting one off at any moment AND wear down defenses with physicality. Almost like choosing between Earl Campbell and Warrick Dunn
Huh? they are basically the same player but one has all helluva line. the thing about CJ that makes him special is that he could take to the house on any play. BTW CJ avg more attempts per game also. i understand that you prefer AP but put up a better argument
Personally i'd rather have CJ. to me its like comparing red to green apples. they both are good for you to have. but taste a lil different.

How are they the same player? One guy is 6'2 230 and the other is 5'10 200 pounds and they run with completely different styles. AP is a big play threat every time he touches the ball as is CJ. The only difference is AP can consistently bring pain to defenders, CJ is not a guy who is looking for contact.

who cares who brings pain to defenders????????wow.
Ask defenders what brings them more pain....getting hit by a rb or giving up a70 80 and 90 yard tds humiliating them whenever he rushes or catches a ball and can do this. AP is a great runner with a great line but cj is a better runner faster better pass catcher and can help out any team more with his running AND catching ability.
If your arguement is bringing pain to defenders well jones drew steven jackson really light up defenders....hell throw in lynch and the rookie from tb as well.

Agian no matter what you are compairing 2 very good apples to each one. basically the same production. one jst has to work a lil harder. But this yr we will really see how good AP is.

Who cares if he brings the pain? Fans and opposing players.
If you have ever played football you would know that playing against a running back who can make you miss and take it to the house or run you over on any given play is a nightmare. APs numbers are comparable so I'm not sure why this so ridiculous to you.
AP through 4 seasons - 6940 yards from scrimmage 54 total TDs
CJ through 3 seasons - 5698 yards from scrimmage 38 total TDs

If your arguement is bringing pain to defenders well jones drew steven jackson really light up defenders....hell throw in lynch and the rookie from tb as well.
the dishes are done
Who cares if he brings the pain? Fans and opposing players.
If you have ever played football you would know that playing against a running back who can make you miss and take it to the house or run you over on any given play is a nightmare. APs numbers are comparable so I'm not sure why this so ridiculous to you.
AP through 4 seasons - 6940 yards from scrimmage 54 total TDs
CJ through 3 seasons - 5698 yards from scrimmage 38 total TDs
Dude, ninertalk. Who would you add to the Niners, not who's the best running back. We desperately need upgrades at other positions before rb, anyway.
Fall back.
Boobie Dixon, Kendall Hunter. One of them will be good, maybe both. Good is all you need at rb, if the line does it's job. How many SB for Johnson, Peterson, Barry Sanders, MJD? OP said no QBs, other than consistent QB play and more experience on the OL (& swap Snyder in for Chilo), I think the personnel on offense is WAY more solid than the D. The D needs 1 (or 2) new CBs, a legit outside pass rush threat (or 2), consistent NT play, and a Safety (or 2).
