Alex Smith and Jason Campbell are the exact same quarterback.

Losers who play just good enough for you to think that maybe they could turn it around.

alex played decent with singeltary and nolan

aka the coaches who couldnt come up with a gameplan

cambell had some decent coaches in his time

Excuses again. It'll never end.

A trade could have been worked out whenever the lockout lifts. Josh Johnson and Kyle Orton are both attainable. One year stop-gaps like Bulger are also attainable.

Kyle Orton would be too expensive

Id rather have Alex than everyone else you mentioned

49er fans are the only people who would say such a thing. There's a reason for that.

Are you serious?

Take a look at Alex Smith's career without including every excuse in the book as to why it panned out the way it did. That's the reason. Everyone else can see it, but a lot of Niner fans are still wearing their Homer goggles.

I have a lot of respect for what Alex is doing right now, but that doesn't translate to the field on Sunday afternoons.

If Alex wasn't such a nice guy, hard worker, it would be much easier to say goodbye. But some fans just can't do it.
