5 years 64 million, 20 million guaranteed, plus giving up DRC and a second. They better pray he's a franchise QB.
DRC has to be happy, with a better front seven, and safety help. He is going to look good in philly.
I don't think Kolb will be as bad as you guys think, but he def wont be good. I'm willing to bet that Alex at the end of his career will be better than Kolb.
How much are you willing to bet......
Kolb will be better than Alex, no question about it. I'm sure Kolb has benefited greatly from being coached in Philly for 4 years, Whisenhunt is a good offensive mind as well. However, Kolb is not a franchise level QB and I'm not worried about him. Harbaugh will mold Colin Kaepernick aka "The Transformer" into something beastly.
Ken Whisenhunt seems to disagree. Andy Reid also had very high praise for Kolb as well when he spoke to Whiz about him. Yes Reid was trying to sell him but at the same time these coaches don't just blow a s**t load of smoke up each others asses, and Whiz obviously studied tape, talked to others about Kolb and made his own evaluation.
From Whiz's mouth :
Quote:
What he has seen from Kolb that he likes so much:
“I’ve seen him in NFL games, I’ve seen the way he handles pressure, the way he handles the huddle, and the way he does things as far as what the normal quarterbacks do in this league. A lot of times when you’re looking at a college guy you don’t have that information as far as handling the sophistication of NFL defenses. I’ve seen him make the tight window throw, the accurate throw down the field, he can bang it on the skinny post, he can make the out throw, have mobility in the pocket, and one of the most intriguing things that I’m looking forward to seeing is the intangibles. The ability to will yourself to be successful is what I see in the makeup of this kid. A lot of that has been gotten by talking to Andy Reid and talking with people that have been around him. I’m excited about that. A lot of the qualities that you look for in a quarterback, has good size, got a good arm, and got all that, but some of the other things that I really like that I think will fit well with our offense.”

Whisenhunt said they saw enough tape to be convinced that they got themselves a good player. He also said Eagles coach Andy Reid's high praise of Kolb helped sell him.
"I think that he is a very good evaluator players, and of quarterbacks," Whisenhunt said. "He couldn't speak highly enough about Kevin and what he could do for a football team."

Kolb is way overrated without Reid calling games
Whiz used to call a pretty mean game plan himself
Or maybe its because he had Kurt Warner???
Also won a ring with Pittsburgh too.
And developed Big Ben.
The haters can hate however this is also the guy Fitz wanted and both Kolb and Fitz worked out together a little during the lockout so they already have a little familiarity. Arizona also helped themselves get one big step closer to a new long term deal with Fitz.
It's not about hate, it's about facts. And fact is, at this point in his career Kolb hasn't shown anything except "promise." High praise from his coach aside (because really, what else would he say about a player he's trying to trade?), Kolb hasn't accomplished jack. Were he that good, he'd still be starting in Philly.
People forget, the same man currently showering him with praise also benched him in favor of Vick. That should tell you something.
Vick was played at a very high level last year, Kolb lost the job when he had to come in and take over for Kolb who suffered a concussion, and was kept out the following week for precautionary reasons. Vick came in and lit it up. When Kolb did play again in 4 consecutive starts, in those first 3 games his passer rating and completion % improved each game before a bad week in the 4th game. The biggest of those 3 games vs Atlanta he also had his best game going 23 for 29 300+ yards with 3 TD's.
The Eagles OL surrendered a world of sacks last year, thus a more mobile QB in Vick helped that OL look better than it was.
Let's not forget Vick was the runner up for the MVP last year. It's not like he lost the job to a scrub or an average QB.
