Can some one explain to me how they signed him as i thought that there could be no free agent signings or trades untill new C.B.A.?

Players who have no contract now can sign with any team.
All the other players are under contract till Thursday night.
Was he cut by someone?

The old CBA is still in effect and he was a free agent. The CBA expires tomorrow night at 11:59.
