LeBeau represents how a Franchise can luck out. Bad ass coordinator who won't entertain the idea of becoming an HC

36-28. LeBeau would be his own D-coordinator.

Out hire coordinators that have failed at being head coaches like Morningweg.

It was a spin-off of the discussion of the NFL's Best Head Coach thread

Lebeau was the head coach of the Bengals from 2000-2002 and held a record of 12-33 as head coach there despite improving the defense significantly. If Lebeau became the HC when Cowher retired I don't think they would have been as successful as they are today and He would probably be his own DC.

is this a hypothetical question? The job came down to Tomlin and Russ Grim.. due to the "Rooney Rule" legend has it that's why Tomlin got the job. If Lebeau became the Steeler's headcoach they probably wouldn't be doing as well

There was a good tidbit about LeBeau, Capers, and Cowher creating a 900 page defensive playbook when they were all with the Steelers.
They were saying the Steelers have been drafting for the 3-4 scheme for decades--major reason why they're so successful now.
