Why is that? I was wondering the same thing about the 49ers. I just dont understand how an area without a team is closer to getting a new stadium than a storied franchise like ours.
Because being a storied franchise has nothing to do with building a stadium. Any project that big relies on funding and gets tangled up in politics and bickering. It doesn't help that the Meadowlands stadium drained the NFL of its stadium fund and the economy hit the wall.
This stadium already will be about $1B with a simple design, imagine something a bit more fanciful.

What they SHOULD do is rebuild Dodger Stadium downtown next to Staples. That's a much better idea than a football stadium. I'm obviously not a Dodger fan but I hate going to Giants games at Chavez Latrine in the middle of the f**king barrio.
Build a football stadium next to the Home Depot Center in Carson or somewhere else along those lines.
