Jim Washburn could be leaving for Philadelphia

One of the best position coaches in the NFL could be changing addresses.
Titans coach Jeff Fisher confirmed to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean that vaunted Titans defensive line coach Jim Washburn has spoken to the Eagles about accepting a position there.
“We are in the middle of it and going back and forth,” Fisher said. “I would think we’d find out in the next day or so.’’
The Eagles have their defensive coordinator and defensive line positions open. We suspect Washburn would be speaking to Andy Reid about the line coach job, since Washburn has never shown the desire to be a coordinator in the past.
In his 12 seasons, Washburn is known for helping make a lot of guys rich and play their best football. Jevon Kearse, Albert Haynesworth, Kyle Vanden Bosch, Jason Babin, and Antwan Odom are some of Washburn’s prize pupils over the years.

If he is so good, why has it taken 12 years for him to get a defensive coordinators job and if not why leave for the same job?

It could be for many reasons. Fisher loyalist, didn't like the places he interviewed, didn't feel he was ready, realizes that Fisher's time with the organization is limited, etc.
