I'd like to at least take a look at Chad Pennington. He's been injured but he's been a solid starter when healthy and he is deadly accurate.

I wouldn't mind seeing Trent Edwards with a much better team around him.

And for a late round rookie to develop: Greg McElroy..completed 70% of his passes against SEC competition.

Here is a pretty good list of free agent QBs

Kevin kolb
Ryan mallet
david carr(hope I'm wrong about this one)

1. Alex Smith
2. David Carr
3. Cam Newton

Hell freakin' no to Cam Newton. The guy is just an overblown Jason Campbell.

I don't want him either. But this is a prediction. Not my wish list. It's just how I see it playing out.

Best case scenario:

1. Kevin Kolb
2. Josh Johnson
3. Jake Locker

I wouldn't mind having McNabb over Kolb either

Not a fan of Kolb. The biggest problem with him is that it would require a big enough draft pick to get him that it could only be justified if you saw him as you long term starter.

Locker.....I'm torn. I like his ability, but the guy melted down at times and isn';t all that great in th pocket.

With Jim Harbaugh coaching him up, I think Locker has the most potential out of any QB's coming out of the draft.

Worst case scenario

1/2. Alex Smith
2/1/3. Troy Smith
2/3. David Carr

Best case scenario

1. Kolb
2. Hasslebeck or Bulger
3. Locker (2nd round pick)

Guesstimation scenario

1. Brady Quinn
2. Kyle Boller
3. Jake Locker (2nd round pick)
1. David Carr
2. Trent Edwards
3. Pat Devlin

Pennington has said he will likely retire rather than risk another shoulder injury.

I would wouldn't mind taking a chance on Quinn, he might be able to become something. Kyle Boller as a back up though

If we grab Josh Johnson and he's our starting QB. We're heading for Andrew Luck.

Wait a year for Luck to declair for the 2012 draft?

Or does Luck pull a Bernie Kozar and enter the supplemental draft after January 15th. and the Niners swoop him... lol

Yeah I was talking about 2012. Any team starting Josh Johnson isn't going far.
