good hire, though the Rams offense wasn't unstoppable or anything.. he has had experience with the Eagles and did really well in coaching Sam Bradford

For 49ers fans, getting Shurmur away from the Rams is very good news. Though Bradford hit the rookie wall just past the halfway point this past season, he would not likely have gone as far as he did were it not for Shurmur careful tutoring and game planning that kept building Sam's confidence. We didn't hear much about it around here but Shurmur started with a very small playbook and used only 1/2 of the field at a time to help him learn to make progressions and keep the timing of the play.
Shurmur not only helped Bradford but also turned Danny Amendola into a very productive receiver as well by using his best talents in a way that fit into Bradford's comfort level.
Getting Bradford away from the Rams may slow down their offense a bit, especially if the new CBA signing is delayed.

Exactly. all they did was run crossing and drags routes across the middle. Teams figured that out by the 2nd half of the season. Plus they have 0 wr talent.

Per Mort and Peter King, he had an impressive interview with Holmgren who once employed his Uncle as DC . . . I hope this happens because it will likely be a set-back for Sam the Ram's sophomore season.
Alex Smith/Jason Campbell 2.0? They've got a defensive minded HC to boot.

unfortunately Bradford has more accuracy than Smith or Campbell and has shown it. Wasn't his first NFL game one where he passed for over 300 yards? Enough said.
He may be better, but Bradford did not look so well as the season went on. Add on he will be expected to do more in his second season. If he loses his offensive coordinator now and they don't get a good replacement, Bradford will be in trouble. Not Alex Smith trouble, but trouble nonetheless.
Sam Bradfords last 5 games: 1TD and 6INT's. In those games his QB ratings were as follows: 66.3, 53.0, 40.9, 107.0 (against us) and 52.4.
Damn, we make every QB look like an all-star! Jed better open up the check book to buy a whole new secondary, Nnamdi Nnamdi Nnamd!

I'm glad that it weakens the Rams
