I'd like to learn a little more about how this works... or how it's supposed to work.

What does the owner of a team usually do concerning his team?

What does a team president do for the team?

What duties are delegated to the GM?

What duties are delegated to the Director of Personnel?

What duties are delegated to the Director of Football Operations? What the ____ are "football operations"? I thought that's what the whole thing is about.

What is the chain of command?

Owner, president, GM, Director of Football Operations, Director of Personnel, HC?

I just don't get it. Seems like a lot of overhead to me.
Lol... Nobody else is sure either!!! Glad I'm not alone.

I think director of football operations and GM are basically the same thing.

I think director of player personnel is hirer than pro personnel.

from article -
Generally, the director of player personnel oversees the college and pro personnel departments. Director of player personnel is sort of an assistant general manager role. Pro personnel director is in charge of overseeing only the department that evaluates players already in the NFL and scouts upcoming opponents.

I am sure some teams don't have all these positions. Some teams Owners are the team president. Some coaches are also the GM, etc. Also, I have read there are also vice presidents of player personnel and pro personnel. So they would be under the director I assume. I guess most teams have their own names and positions.
